Your winter holiday begins at 1,930 metres amidst the Ötztal Alps. Obergurgl-Hochgurgl combines snow-sure slopes, modern mountain lifts and a pleasantly quiet atmosphere. The ski area ranges from around 1,800 metres to over 3,000 snow-sure metres in altitude.

The diamond of the Alps, as the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski region also calls itself, currently offers 112 kilometres of pistes and 25 ski lifts. The Top Express connects the pistes of both villages. Whether it's your first turns, sporty descents or long days of enjoyment: beginners, families and experienced winter sports enthusiasts will find the perfect conditions for them. Wide pistes and modern facilities create great conditions for relaxed carving.
Your hotel – right on the piste
The Gurglhof is located directly on the ski slope. After just a few steps, you can reach the mountain railway and get straight to the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area. At the end of the ski day, you can ski almost right back to the hotel.

Winter experiences away from the slopes
Obergurgl offers far more than skiing. Sled with the family down to the valley, hike along cleared winter paths through the snowy landscape or discover the tranquillity of the Ötztal Alps on a snowshoe tour. Cross-country skiing, ski touring and ice climbing also provide action and variety. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, combine a walk with a stop at a mountain hut and enjoy the crisp mountain air and views of the mighty three-thousanders.
OBERGURGL – MORE THAN JUST A WINTER SPORTS RESORT
Obergurgl is more than "just" skiing, snow and mountains. There are also wonderful buildings and architectural highlights in this unique mountain village situated in the Ötz Valley. The parish church of St. John of Nepomuk deserves a special mention. It is not only that this beautiful church was expanded in 1924 by the famous architect Clemens Holzmeister to include a gallery bay and a side chapel, Obergurgl is also the highest parish village in Austria. Nowhere else can you get as close to the skies as here in Obergurgl. And if you have an interest in unique buildings, you shouldn't miss the Piccard monument. This commemorates the emergency landing and rescue of Auguste Piccard, who had to make an emergency landing on the Gurgler Glacier on May 27th, 1931, after having set a new altitude record with his balloon, and spend a night there in the snow before he was finally rescued.
